Custom Navigation for HTML5 Output

Hello Readers,

We are back with another experiment.
Sometimes the specifications ask you to do something that is not possible or is very difficult in Storyline 2.

For example, creating a custom navigation that can track progress of slides (not started/visited/completed) needs a hell lot of triggers just to keep track of the slide’s current state.

Here’s an easy solution.

For this sample, We have created an html5 responsive menu that works well on desktop and mobile devices. Being an HTML page with inline CSS, you can customize the menu text and overall look and feel as much as you wish. The progress can also be tracked.

When any menu item is clicked, a java scripts gets triggered and  the Storyline slide automatically changes.

Using this technique you can save a lot of time and save yourself from setting up a lot of triggers. Just embed the web object and your menu is ready.
